1. Introduction

Artist Launcher ("the Platform", "we", "us", or "our") is a music services platform that provides tools and opportunities designed to help music artists discover, promote, and grow their audiences. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Platform.

By accessing or using Artist Launcher, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you must not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

name and display name
email address
password (stored in encrypted form)
profile information you choose to provide
account role (Artist or Curator).

2.2 Music Submission Data

When Artists submit music through the Platform, we collect:

track metadata (title, artist name, genre, album art)
submission details and history
feedback received from Curators.

2.3 Payment Information

When you make purchases or receive payouts, payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details on our servers. We may receive and store:

transaction history and amounts
billing address
last four digits of your payment method
payment status and confirmation details.

Stripe's collection and use of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

2.4 Spotify Data

When you connect your Spotify account to Artist Launcher, we access and store the following data from Spotify:

Email address — used for account identification and communication
Display name — used to personalize your profile on the Platform
Playlists — imported to enable curation and submission features
Track metadata — including track names, artist names, and album art used to display playlist content
Audio features — such as tempo, energy, and danceability used to power playlist curation tools

2.5 Discord Data

If you connect your Discord account or interact with Artist Launcher through Discord, we may collect:

Discord user ID and display name
server membership information
messages and interactions within Artist Launcher Discord channels.

2.6 Usage and Device Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Platform, including:

IP address
browser type and version
device type and operating system
pages visited and features used
date and time of access
referring URLs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
process music submissions and facilitate curator reviews
process payments and manage credits
match artist submissions to relevant playlists based on genre, audio features, and curator preferences
provide curation tools such as playlist flow analysis, transition quality suggestions, and energy arc visualization
communicate with you about your account, submissions, and services
send notifications related to platform activity
detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
enforce our Terms and Conditions
improve and develop new features for the Platform
comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

Between Artists and Curators

When an Artist submits music for review, certain information (such as track metadata, artist name, and submission details) is shared with the Curator receiving the submission. Similarly, Curator feedback is shared with the submitting Artist.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:

Stripe — for payment processing
Supabase — for database and authentication services
Spotify — for music data and playlist integration
Discord — for community features and notifications.

These providers only receive the data necessary to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect your information.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights or safety, or investigate potential violations of our Terms.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Artist Launcher uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Authentication — session cookies to keep you signed in and manage your connected accounts
Preferences — storing your theme preference and other UI settings
Security — CSRF tokens and OAuth state parameters to protect your account during authorization flows
Analytics — understanding how users interact with the Platform to improve our services

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform, particularly features that require authentication.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

encrypted storage of sensitive credentials and tokens.

Right to disconnect — you can disconnect your Spotify or Discord accounts from Artist Launcher at any time through your profile settings
Right to revoke Spotify access — you can revoke Artist Launcher's access to your Spotify account at any time through your Spotify account settings

When you disconnect a third-party account (such as Spotify), all data imported from that service is permanently deleted within 5 days. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at founders@artistlauncher.com.

9. Children's Privacy

Artist Launcher is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 without the consent of a legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Platform integrates with and may contain links to third-party services, including Spotify, Discord, and Stripe. These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Data obtained from Spotify is governed by both this Privacy Policy and Spotify's own Privacy Policy.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
